So the other day in Spring Training, Jose Reyes came to the plate hitting against Joe Smith.  He barely swung the bat and the ball sailed off the top of the right field wall.  Reyes cruised around the bases for a triple.  The Mets have made it known that they want more “small ball” mentality from Reyes in 2008.  After the shot, Reyes said:

“I don’t know how I hit it that hard,” Reyes said sheepishly. “In my mind I’m trying to slow down my body a little bit, hit the ball the other way and use my speed. It was a fastball and I just use my hands.”

What a good problem to have.  Accidentally hitting the ball hard    Keep it up JoRey!
